"It's Great to be a Lemme Leopard"

Door 3 where he 1st started at Lemme with Mrs. Christianson. Simeon has grown SO MUCH in his 7 years at Lemme. Simeon started kindergarten looking so healthy, but just a short 5 weeks later we found out he had Leukemia and was extremely sick. Looking at him now, you'd never know the battle he fought to be where he is today.

Simeon-you've worked so hard to over come some pretty big educational delays from all the chemo and missing so much school the 1st few years. You're an amazing reader with such a high level of thinking. We're over the moon excited to watch what you make out of your future. You're such a bright, compassionate, energetic kiddo that can go so far in life. Keep putting one foot in front of the other with that smile on your face and kindness in your heart. Even when life gets hard, and you want to take a break, remember the fight you gave cancer and what you've overcome already in life.  You are going to do AWESOME things!!
We love you Simeon

A foot later

I've been growing my hair out for over a year. I kept saying I'll cut it this summer. But after weeks of terrible headaches I couldn't take my heavy thick hair anymore. I happen to go into a salon to get chlorine stripping shampoo for Corrine when I decided to cut it right then. Rebecca was super patient watching me getting it cut.

Instantly it felt like I lost a few pounds of weight on my head. It was such a wonderful feeling.
This cut makes it about 40 inches that I've donated to Locks of Love over the years.

That afternoon I was driving Simeon and 4 friends to band practice at the high school. I got to the school early enough to get a spot just 3 cars back from the door. Simeon came out with his friend Nick. They both looked at me in the van, then went back to talking. They did this a few times. Ammon walked by and saw me and of course told me "your hair looks weird". So sweet buddy! After Ammon stopped at the van one of the other kids in the group saw me and told Simeon "that's your mom right there." Simeon still wasn't sure it was me. It took him coming right up to the van to believe that it was really me.
I do have to give him some slack because there's another family at school with an identical van and she does have shorter hair, but we look completely different.

Dance Marathon 19

This was our 7th Dance Marathon and the kids excitement for it has only increased.

This really is the party of all parties.

Some highlights from the weekend.

We were group 7. A large part of our group were 1st time dancers. One was a friend of Simeon's, high school sister.
Our Family Rep Nicole from last year flew from Florida to be here. Corrine LOVED having her around.
Simeon pillowcase was on the bottom row this year, so we could get a picture of him standing by it.
This year the neon green screen was such a hit for the kids. We danced behind it and took lots of videos and pictures of the fun.
This year there was a Dance Marathon wall with all the shirts and stats from the years.
The family room was of course a BIG hit. Rebecca liked dressing up, but the soft comfy corner was the most loved area.
Twister got the kids twisted pretty tight with each other!
We spent lots of time with Jan & Denny. Their daughter Becky and Simeon became instant friends, as did the rest of us. Becky passed away just over 2 years ago.
We danced in the ball room with the students. Friday night Rebecca was the star of the show and got lots of attention.ing video games in the Best Buy room.
Simeon and Ammon spend ALOT of time play
Saturday Rebecca feel asleep during Power hour and slept through the loudest, biggest, craziest motion packed hour!
We cried when the pictures and names of those gone too soon were read. 15 new children were added to the Dancing in Our Heart Quilt this year.
Becky had a new picture of her . It was beautiful.
We stayed until the very end. Corrine & Ammon collected hundreds of glow sticks as per our annual tradition, then we all got our DM 19 bracelets.
And over $1.5 million was raised For The Kids!!!
